Information report on seminar on 21 June 2023 organised in cooperation with Profesia.sk

Civic Association of Slovak Mediators mediation.online, o. z. and company / job portal Profesia, spol. s r.o. on 21 June 2023 organised a seminar on "Employment in Slovakia: career counselling" in the premises of Profesia, spol. s r.o.

The seminar was held within the framework of the KLUB Fides programme for the development of work skills. KLUB Fides (from Latin Fides - trust, conscientiousness) is a public initiative within the mediation.online association, whose aim is to provide counselling assistance to those who have left Ukraine and are currently living in Slovakia. The project "KLUB Fides" is supported by the Centre for Philanthropy and the TIPSPORT Foundation.

At the beginning of the meeting Customer Care Manager Profesia, spol. s r.o .Mgr. Martin Szabo welcomed the participants of the seminar and wished the attendees a successful course of the event. In her welcoming speech, the representative of the association of Slovak mediators mediation.online, o. z. JUDr. Elena Zenkovich, СSc. thanked the company Profesia, spol. s r.o. for the opportunity to host the seminar and discuss current employment issues.

In his presentation Customer Care Specialist Profesia, spol. s r.o. Ing. Tetiana Fedorchak talked about how to look for a job in Slovakia. She focused on the key aspects: what is the situation on the labour market in Slovakia, how to prepare for an interview, what rights workers have in Slovakia, seven steps to a modern CV. She explained in detail the selection process for job positions and what applicants should look out for. The final part of the presentation was devoted to what jobs with knowledge of Ukrainian language are available in Bratislava and where to look for them on the Profesia.sk job portal.

In the next part of the seminar, a lawyer, mediator mediation.online, o. z. presented. JUDr. Lenka Sokolová the topic of the employment contract, its content and the main terms of the contract. She also talked about some provisions of the employment contract that may be risky for the employee and should be paid close attention to before signing the contract. There was a lively discussion on the terms of the employment contract, working time, overtime and the possibilities of termination of the employment relationship by the employer and the employee. On the issue of conflict resolution, the focus was on the effectiveness of mediation procedures in employment relations. JUDr. Elena Zenkovich, СSc. (lawyer, mediator).

The participants thanked the organizers and lecturers for their informative presentations at the seminar, expressed their gratitude to Profesia, spol. s r.o. for creating excellent conditions for this seminar.
